Doctor
Penny Dye, DVM Dr. Dye has practiced veterinary medicine at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic since 1988 after graduating from Ohio State University. Special interests include equine reproduction and small animal internal medicine and surgery.
When not at work she fills her time helping out at the ranch where she and her husband Jack raise Angus cattle and Quarter Horses.
Kami Ireland, DVM Dr. Kami Ireland majored in biology at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and received her Bachelor of Science degree in 1997. She received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 from Iowa State University and has been practicing at Dakota Hills since her graduation. While she has several professional interests and skills, Dr. Ireland is especially interested in small animal internal medicine.
Dr. Ireland is very thankful to have the opportunity to practice veterinary medicine in the community where she was raised. In her free time she enjoys spending time at her parents' ranch, competing in rodeo events, and laughing with family and friends.
Curtis Stonecipher, DVM Dr. Stonecipher has been at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic since 2000. He is an Iowa State University graduate. Being raised in the Rapid City area, Dr. Stonecipher is excited to be able to practice in his hometown. Activities such as hunting and being a Bronco's fan occupy his spare time.
Dr. Shan Collett, DVM Dr. Collett is a 1993 graduate from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has practiced primarily equine medicine and surgery. His areas of focus are reproduction, surgery, lameness diagnosis and treatment, internal medicine and preventative health and welfare. Dr. Collett and his wife Mary, along with their children Sophia, Jacob and Alyssa come to us from Visalia, CA. They spend their time together raising and racing their Thoroughbred horses.

Management
Kim Kizzier Kim is the Clinic Administrator at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic and has worked here since March, 2002. Kim studied Veterinary Technology at National College in Rapid City, SD in 1982-83. She spent several years traveling throughout the western United States and Canada working mostly with horses, sled dogs, and in the Ag and veterinary industries. Kim attended Dr. Jay Scherer's Academy of Natural Healing in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 91 & 92 and became a Certified Massage Therapist. In 1999-01 she attended the University of Montana where she studied pre-veterinary sciences. Kim recently graduated from Tallgrass Animal Acupressure and is currently attending the American College of Veterinary Naturopathy.
Kim lives in the Black Hills with her daughter, dog, cat and horses. Kim enjoys an on-going study with Parelli Natural Horsemanship.
Kendra Hanks , R.V.T Kendra is the Hospital Manager at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic and has been working here since November 1997 when she began as a veterinary assistant. Kendra worked as a veterinary technician for DHVC for 10 years and Veterinary Technician Manager for about 8 years. Kendra received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from National American University in Rapid City, SD. She has been a registered technician since June 1998.
Kendra likes working on the ranch, riding horses, and spending time with her husband, two daughters and her pets. Her pets include 2 dogs, Ditch and Rukus, and 2 cats, Harley and Dandy.
Technician
Michelle Lutheran , R.V.T Michelle has worked at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic since April 2001 and has been the Veterinary Technician manager since January 2008. Michelle graduated from National American University with an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has been a registered technician since June 2001.
Michelle enjoys riding horses, hunting, fishing, hiking, and camping. Her pets include 4 dogs named Chico, Stella, Jack, and Snowplow. She also has 2 ferrets named Adam and Jordan, 1 frog, 1 ball python, 1 albino burmese python, a savannah monitor, a crested geko, and a horse named Jack.
Kathy Commerford , R.V.T Kathy received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from National American University in Rapid City, SD. She has been a registered technician since June, 2003. Kathy has been working at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic since September, 1998.
Kathy likes spending time with her family and her pets. She enjoys horseback riding in her spare time.
Erin Smith , R.V.T Erin is a graduate from National American University. She completed the Veterinary Technician program in May 2004.
Erin's hobbies include playing various sports including softball. She has a black lab named TJ and three cats named Reese, Marti and Maddie. Erin has worked at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic since May 2002 and has been a registered veterinary technician since May 2004.

Aimee Foote My name is Aimee. I have one pure black cat named Shinobi. I enjoy reading & watching movies in the few spare moments I have.
Cristi Semmler , B.S., R.V.T Cristi was born & raised around Custer, South Dakota. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2002 with a B.S. in Equine Science & Ridgewater College in 2004 with an A.A.S in Veterinary Technology. After internships, at Littleton Large Animal Clinic & Minnesota State University, she settled in Colorado where she worked in both private practice & an emergency clinic as a C.V.T. She had been in Equine Sports Massage Therapist in 1998. Cristi moved back to South Dakota in February of 2007 to join our practice.
Her parents ranch East of Buffalo Gap where she enjoys horseback riding & helping out on their place. Her family is very important to her & she enjoys spending her spare time with them. She has 2 four-legged children-Jasper, a border collie mix & Coffee, a persian.

Dona Winger Dona graduated from Eastern Wyoming College Vet Tech program in 2005. She has been working as a registered technician since then. Dona joined the vet tech staff at Dakota Hills in June 2007.
Dona has 2 English Springer Spaniels named Hammer and Grady and one tabby cat named Kitten Boy. She enjoys hiking with the dogs, camping and other outdoor activities.

Dawn Christensen , Receptionist Dawn is a receptionist at Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic and has been working here since July, 2002. She was born and raised in Rapid City, SD.
Dawn is married and has three cats and a dog. She enjoys reading, gardening, and traveling.
CeeCee (Charito) Buer Hi, I'm Cee Cee. I'm married to Matt & have a wonderful new son, Gabrien.Our extended family includes 2 cats and a little dog. My cats are Digweed and he is a wild man, Missy is a "keep to myself" girl and Nina is my chihuahua and she is a love. I enjoy all animals, and love laughing and enjoying live. I have been with Dakota Hills since Febuary 2005.

Becky Eite I was born and raised in Kirtland, Ohio. I moved to the Black Hills in 1981 with my mom & dad. I have two sons, two horses, & 2 dogs Max & Harley. I enjoy horseback riding, reading, listening to music and spending time with my husband Rod & family and friends. I have been with Dakota Hills Veterinary Clinic since June, 2003.

Andi Lies My name is Andrea but everybody calls me Andi for short. I'm originally from New Rockford, ND where I was raised on an exotic animal farm. I graduated and moved to the beautiful Black Hills in 1992. In 1995 I found a special man whom I still spend my time with. I enjoy the outdoors, baking, TV and of course animals. Layne and I are currently raising 2 cats named Smokey and Snoball.
Laura Crews I was born and raised in Pensacola, Fla where I met my husband James. I am a military wife of 16yrs. I have one son who is 16 and a daughter who is 13. I own 2 pets; one dog named Kelsey and a cat named Toby. We have been in Rapid City for 2 years and hopefully will finish out our military service here. I enjoy swimming, painting, watching movies and watching my kids play sports. Being able to work around so many animals is very rewarding.
